No matter what motorcycle you bring forour track days; the requirements are the same. The bike should be in top mechanical condition and propertly tuned, with special attention to brakes and tires.
Special Attention Items are simple:
- New or near-new tires
- Brakes in excellent working condition. You will be braking hard, and often
- All lights must be either removed or taped
- Mirrors removed
- Side stands and centerstands removed (recommended)
- No antifreeze allowed in water cooled bikes
Your bike will be inspected first thing in the AM!

BRING WHAT YOU RACE
Obviously, if you are currently racing; you will want to use your race bike. Prep your bike as though you were entering an event; not only for safety's sake but so that you can get top performance out of your machine.
BRING WHAT YOU HAVE
Any street bike in top mechanical condition, which handles well and can maintain highway speed comfortably is appropriate for track day sessions. Tune it up and make sure the special attention items are covered. Check and adjust your chain and be sure there are no loose nuts and bolts. Check for and repair any fluid leaks. For water cooled bikes; drain the radiator and refill with distilled water and a wetting agent, mixed in the recommended ratio.
